THEORY OF MEMORABLE MESSAGES
Memorable messages are those ‘sticky’ messages from significant others that you think back on which influenced your individual belief system and behaviors. Some are positive, some are negative, and some are absent messages, or ones we wish we had received. Our research seeks to explores how these messages are reinforced or challenged throughout the lifespan, the consequence of internalizing these messages, and how those internalized messages might be disrupted at pivotal life moments.
